Organizer Privacy Policy
Version 2026-10-24.
When you buy a ticket on EventsGrid, the event organizer receives some of your personal information so they can run their event. This policy sets out what every organizer on EventsGrid agrees to do with it. It applies alongside the EventsGrid Privacy Policy, and in line with the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 and other data protection laws that apply.
What the organizer receives
- Your name and the contact details you gave at checkout (email, and phone if you gave one).
- Your order: tickets, add-ons, and attendance or check-in status.
- Any answers you give to the organizer's own questions (custom fields), and anything their event policies ask for (for example a verified phone number or a profile photo).
Your card and bank details are never shared with organizers. Our payment partners handle them.
What the organizer may use it for
- Running the event: admission, check-in, seating, badges, and contacting you about schedule changes, cancellations and refunds.
- Meeting their legal obligations (for example safety, tax or venue requirements).
- Anything else they've told you about in their own statement at checkout, if the event has one.
Organizers may not sell your information, or use it for unrelated marketing, unless you've separately agreed to that with them.
How long they keep it
Only for as long as they need it for the purposes above, then they delete or anonymise it.
Keeping it safe
Organizers must keep your information secure, share it only with people who need it to run the event (such as staff, volunteers and venue partners bound by the same duties), and tell EventsGrid promptly if it's lost or misused.
Your rights
You can ask the organizer to see, correct or delete your information, or object to how it's used. Use the organizer's contact details on the event page. If you can't reach them, or you're unhappy with their answer, contact [email protected] and we'll follow it up.
Events that collect extra information
Some events ask for more, such as custom questions, ID checks or a verified phone. Those events must publish their own privacy policy and explain why they need the information and how they handle it. You'll see it before you pay and can choose not to continue.
